An offer you cannot refuse.
Vito Corleone
- Prohibition was the period of time in the United States, when the manufacture, sale, and transportation of alcohol for consumption were banned.
- It lasted from 1920 to 1933
- After prohibition ended, those Mafia families unwilling to expand into other ventures such as unions, construction, sanitation and drug trafficking, that neglected the need to change, eventually lost power and influence and ultimately vanished
His youngest son, Michael Corleone –
- Transformation because of circumstances
- Not according to his father’s vision or plan
- Life turned out that way, circumstances
- Life made him an offer that he had no chance to refuse
God is not like that.
Jeremiah 29:11-14 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.
- The plan – of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope
- Then you will call upon Me
- pray to Me, and
- I will listen to you
- And you will seek Me and find Me,
- when you search for Me with all your heart.
- I will be found by you
- I will bring you back from your captivity
- I will gather you from where I have driven you, says the LORD
- I will bring you home again to your own land.”
Exile – 70 years because of not honoring Shabbat
Daniel referred to Jeremiah’s prediction, Dn 9:2).
The prophecy was given before the event.
So Scripture says that Jeremiah wrote it,
Daniel read about it, and then it happened according to God’s vision and plan.
Numbers 23:19 (NKJV) “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

- We’re all encouraged by someone who stirs us to move ahead,
- someone who believes we can do the task he has given and
- who will be with us all the way.
- God is that kind of leader.
- He knows the future, and
- his plans for us are good and full of hope.
- As long as God, who knows the future,
- provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill his mission, we can have boundless hope.
- This does not mean that we will be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion.
- We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus the Christ. We will overcome.
Redeemed by the blood of Jesus
- Bought back through adoption from Original sin

The rules and conditions set by God
Genesis 9:4 (NKJV) But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
Leviticus 17:10-14 (NKJV) 10 ‘And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ 12 Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘No one among you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells among you eat blood.’ 13 Whatever man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust; 14 for it is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life. Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.’
- Fulfilled by the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ

- John 6:53 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
- 1 Corinthians 11:25 (NKJV) In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
- Colossians 1:14 (NKJV) in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
- 1 John 1:7 (NKJV) But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
