Called out of darkness into His marvelous light

I wanted to thank the Lord for calling me out of the darkness, and into His marvelous light. By God’s grace, I came to know about the Lord through my sister Anshu and family. My sister Anshu was miraculously healed of migraine, that prevented her from completing her medicine degree in India. Shortly after, my brother-in-law Charles, was healed from an incurable disease, sickle cell anemia. I became curious and deeply convicted of something I did not yet understand. As I learned more about the God of the Bible through my sister, I became more convinced Jesus was the One and only true God. I also witnessed radical character changes in my sister, that I didn’t think were possible, without a sovereign God watching over her. After I met Pastor, I remember having lunch with him and Charles (I think in Fort Kochi). After going to church a number of times with my sister and family, during my visits to India, I clearly remember one time that the Lord convicted me of sin, righteousness, and judgement, according to John 6:8-11.

I had a well-paying office job, for almost 6 years. During the latter part of my tenure there, each day I would feel as if I was not called for the work I was doing. Finally, I got let go from the job, being told it was due to an industry downturn. I remember that some weeks before this happened, I was wrongly influenced, and I stopped giving tithes. And Pastor had told me that this would happen, but also that God was with me through this. Since I started giving tithes, which is a biblical concept based around Malachi 3:10, the Lord showed me that He alone is my provider. Meaning, no one else could provide for me like He could. Later, after going through a number of different physically intensive labor jobs in the span of a few years, the Lord showed me that it is He who gives me the power to make wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18).

After I got let go from the well-paying job I had a number of years ago, I bought a house in the US, and understood later it was a mistake, and not the Lord’s will. Though I had put the house on rent, and it helped me provide my need in Canada, I was burdened with an ever increasing amount of yearly property tax and tax on rental income, that, only by the power of His grace, I paid year after year. In 2024, we were able to sell the house with more than what I bought it for. I thank the Lord for His mercies. He is teaching me to profit, according to Isaiah 48:17.

After the Lord saved me, he turned my path from a self-seeking career in seeking to do a PhD, with no thoughts about marriage, to getting a proper job. When He found me faithful, He got me married to a wonderful person, Reby, and, in 2024, blessed me and Reby with Esther (Psalm 127:3). He turned my way, as I trusted in Him, so as to establish me, and also my family. This establishing is a work in progress, and I know the Lord does not tarry (Habakkuk 2:3).

There are many other things I want to thank the Lord for, including the cancellation of a large debt, getting significant tax refunds, and miraculously obtaining employment insurance. I also want to thank the Lord who through Pastor has enabled us to minister the Word of God to my parents, which has been a blessing and a great joy.

I wanted to thank Pastor for being our spiritual father, and guiding us towards being grounded in the Word of God. Every day, I am tasting and seeing that the Lord is good. Praise the Lord!
