Colossians 3:23-24

Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, [24] knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

It seems that a Bishop was promoting sin from the pulpit at the U.S. prayer service at the National Cathedral after President Trump’s inauguration. Though it can be considered a heartfelt plea, this is definitely NOT what is ment by this verse. the Bible clearly says “do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men”, not to men but to the Lord; not human pleasers but God pleasers.

As there is a reward for those who are right with the Lord, there is going to be judgment on those who mock God. I am shocked that there are those who dare to convert what is bad in God’s eyes to seemingly a good thing, and that too from the pulpit, do they not fear the Lord? Mark my words, they will be ruined! I am reminded of Habakkuk’s prayer in chapter 1, and am truly appalled by the sin we tolerate.

All this will be solved if we “serve the Lord” and obey Him instead of catering to our sinful nature.
