I Pity the fool

Mr. T: known for his roles as B. A. Baracus in the 1980s television series “The A-Team” and as boxer Clubber Lang in the 1982 film Rocky III.

  • His catchphrase “I pity the fool!” comes from the film; when asked if he hates Rocky, Lang replies, “No, I don’t hate Balboa, but I pity the fool.”

Psalm 14:1 NKJV The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.

  • God measures us to see how much He can trust us
  • So that He can see how much He can entrust to us
  • That is all determined by our trust in Him

Hebrews 4:7 NKJV again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”

  • Storm – Jesus the storm calmer and then gives authority over the storm.

If you are not at peace with yourself and with God, then there is a storm that needs calming.

As we grow in the Lord, sometimes the length between the promise and the fulfillment is extended to see if we will switch who we’re going to rely on

  • who we’re going to trust in
  • sometimes because of that impatience
  • sometimes because of that mistrust that develops in our heart,
  • we start turning to human solutions
  • Instead of what God has actually promised to do.

Our entire walk with Christ, the target of this relational Journey that we have with the Lord is the issue of trust.

  • The Lord measures us to see what we what we can carry responsibly

If we are not at peace, we will struggle or worse, panic

Proverbs 4:23 NKJV Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

The devil will do all he can to see that we fail, and don’t measure up to our calling

John 10:10 NKJV The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Our calling is in Christ Jesus, He is the one that said “Follow Me”

He is the Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 NKJV For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

So cast your burdens to Him

Philippians 4:4-7 NKJV Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! [5] Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. [6] Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; [7] and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

“For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: “It might have been!”” –  John Greenleaf Whittier from the poem “Maud Muller”

  • The world lost in sin may say that, being full of regrets,
  • but we are not among those fools, for we serve a God of hope, the Lord of peace.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 NKJV Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.
