Romans 12:2 (NKJV) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) tells us that “as he thinks in his heart, so is he”. We all would like to have a more intimate walk with Jesus, but find that we often fall short. The Apostle Paul states that we have the mind of Christ, but how is it possible to have that without renewing your mind, without discarding the worldly way of thinking with its values and superstitions, without aligning our thinking with the that of Christ’s, without renewing your mind with the Word of God?
The Renew Your Mind program is first and foremost based on you being personally accountable to me for the renewing of your mind.
The way it works is very simple. All you have to do is read one chapter of the Bible a day, and ask me questions from it. You will then email your questions to me daily. I will answer them anonymously on http://reconcenter.wordpress.com/. You can visit the site to see how it is done. If you have signed up there, you will get an email from the site. If you have not, you’ll have to visit the site to get your answer.
This is NOT a Bible reading plan. Strictly speaking, this is not a Bible study program either. The sole purpose of this program is to have you engage your mind daily in the understanding of the Word of God.
My role is the same as a trainer in a gymnasium. You could do this yourselves, but as you can evidently see in your own lives, you could use some help with your walk with Christ. So that is why we need to do this daily.
NO ONE can fully understand that Bible, but it is often the case that we think we understand, so if there is a chapter that you think you’ve fully understood and have no questions, please email a summary of your understanding.
This is a daily activity. However, you do not sin or lose your salvation if you miss a day. If you miss two days, make it your priority not to miss another day. If you miss three days, you will lose your peace because as your ‘dear pastor’, I will eat your head! Consider this fair warning.
I would like everyone I pastor to engage in this exercise, but it is NOT compulsory. You can sign up just to receive the Q&A posts if you’d like, but if you’d like to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God, then you need to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and not be conformed to this world.
