  5. Makes one compassionate and merciful to others (Psalm 38:12-14).
  6. Makes him penitent (Psalm 38:6,8,17,18).
  7. Produces hope and faith (Psalm 38:15).
  8. Encourages a life of following that which is good (Psalm 38:20).
