[8] Finally Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen. After all, we are close relatives! [9] The whole countryside is open to you. Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate. If you want the land to the left, then I’ll take the land on the right. If you prefer the land on the right, then I’ll go to the left.”
Interesting, isn’t it? To avoid strife, Abraham willingly allowed Lot to take advantage of him. He allowed Lot to have it his way even though Abraham was older and should have been able to choose first.
Sometimes, no matter how much it hurts, you may have to let the other person do it his or her own way just so you can avoid unnecessary conflict. It may not be fair. You may know beyond a doubt that you are right and they’re wrong, but that doesn’t matter. Let it go and trust God to make it up to you.
I’ve taught on this. Remember, the blesser is with you.
1 Corinthians 6:6-7 NLT
[6] But instead, one believer sues another-right in front of unbelievers! [7] Even to have such lawsuits with one another is a defeat for you. Why not just accept the injustice and leave it at that? Why not let yourselves be cheated?
