Eschatology is a part of theology concerned with the final events of history, or the ultimate destiny of humanity. This concept is commonly referred to as “the end of the world” or “end times”.
- The word means “last” and -logy meaning “the study of”.
Encompasses a variety of subjects
- Timing of the rapture
- Timing of the Millennium
- What is meant by the 7 letters by Jesus in Revelation
- Whether the seals are beginning to be opened
- Who are the 144,000?
Therefore, we must be very clear, thorough, and ever-learning from the Word of God
Faith
Dear Heavenly Father, please give me a revelation of the power of the Gospel today. From this day forward, may Your grace be the foundation of my daily relationship with You.
I declare that I will be free from guilt, condemnation, and a performance mentality. I declare that I abide in faith, abound in hope, I keep myself in the love of God. I will overcome all trials, I will persevere, and develop Christ-like character by His power.
Open my heart to see the hope of my calling, to know the inheritance that I have in the saints, and to understand the depth of Your power at work in my life. Release upon me a Spirit of wisdom, revelation, and enlightenment today.
Lead me into an encounter with You that forever changes me and deepens my love for Jesus. Illuminate the truth of Your Word as You prepare my heart to receive it. Amen.

Ten Virgins
- Matthew 25:1-13 NKJV [1] “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
- The parable emphasizes the need for watchfulness in the event of a long delay in Christ’s coming
- Jesus told the following parables to clarify further what it means to be ready for his return and how to live until he comes. We are taught that every person is responsible for his or her own spiritual condition.
- [2] Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. [3] Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
- 1 Timothy 6:9-10 (NKJV) 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and intomany foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
- Galatians 3:3 (KJV) Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
- [4] but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. [5] But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. [6] “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ [7] Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. [8] And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ [9] But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ [10] And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. [11] “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ [12] But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ [13] “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
- The bridesmaids, not the bide and the groom. They were responsible for preparing the bride to meet the bridegroom. The scene is apparently centered round the house of the bride to which the bridegroom is coming for the wedding festivities.
- These 10 bridesmaids were waiting to join the procession, and they hoped to take part in the marriage feast. But when the groom didn’t come at the expected time, five of them were out of lamp oil. By the time they had purchased extra oil, it was too late to join the feast.
- In the professing church, as we see it, there are many who appear to be Christians but have never been born again. As in Matt. 13, there are the tares among the wheat.
- When Jesus returns to take his people to heaven, we must be ready. Spiritual preparation cannot be bought or borrowed at the last minute. Our relationship with God must be our own.
- Lamp oil, not the Holy Spirit, for He cannot be bought and sold or divided between people at their request.
