Jude 1:20-21 NKJV [20] But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, [21] keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
- You must have faith in the first place only then we can build faith up.
- Then build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

Faith
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
- New Living Translation So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
- Amplified Bible So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.
- Strengthened in the inner man. Eph 3:16 Ears of the inner man.
The Holy Spirit Inoculation & drunkenness
Jude 20 building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit
2 Timothy 3:1-8 NKJV [1] But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: [2] For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, [4] traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, [5] having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
[8] Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;
- As Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, our resistance will be
- As Pharaoh “summoned the wise men and the sorcerers, the magicians of Egypt, also did the same by their secret arts” (Exodus 7:11,22; 8:7)
- working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2 Thessalonians 2:9
- false Christs, and false prophets-if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24
- Being filled with the Holy Spirit inoculates us from these.

Acts 2:15 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.
Acts 2:18 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.
- Not spookiness every time there is His tangible presence, but traditions and the ways of man should not quench the Holy Spirit of God; of His move.

1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
- Without hope, you cannot have faith.
Hebrews 11:1 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
- Love of God caused the satisfaction/propitiation of God for our sins in Jesus.
1 John 4:10-11 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
- This Love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 5:5 NKJV Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
- The hope in God does not disappoint.
- Romans 5:5 love, agape.
- A word to which Christianity gave new meaning.
- Agape denotes an undefeatable benevolence and unconquerable goodwill that always seeks the highest good of the other person, no matter what he does.
- It is the self-giving love that gives freely without asking anything in return, and does not consider the worth of its object.
- Agape refers to the will rather than the emotion. It is more a love by choice than philos, which is love by chance.
- Agape describes the unconditional love God has for the world.
- poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us
- The Spirit of God: Basis of the New Covenant.
- God wants what He paid for!
The Greatest commandment
Mark 12:30-31 NKJV [30] And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. [31] And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
John 13:34-35 NKJV [34] A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. [35] By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- Agape love; this unconditional love of God is needed because we also ought to love one another (1 John 4:5, John 13:34), not human emotional/conditional stuff.
- How can we give away what we don’t have? Emotion of faith is thanksgiving,
1 John 5:3-4 NKJV [3] For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. [4] For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.
- Born of God is born by the Spirit of God, this alone, being born-again, causes us to overcome the world.
- His commandments are the commandments in the New Covenant.
- His commandments are not burdensome if we are born of God, filled with the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:19 NKJV Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
- The believer’s body is a temple, the temple of the Holy Spirit.
- We believer cannot claim ownership of this body.
- Stewardship – personal example
- Our body belongs to the Lord, purchased by His Son and inhabited by His Spirit.

Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–18 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. - Keep your eyes on the things above
- Give hope each other with these words,
- with hope you will have faith,
- for that you must experience the love of God.
Dear God, I repent of my sins and my ways apart from you. I put my trust in Jesus Christ as Lord; the master over my life, and my Saviour. Forgive me and grant me your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
