Day 9

““The wise answered, ‘No, lest there not be enough for us and you. Go rather to those who sell it, and buy some for yourselves.’” Matthew 25:9 MEV

Could “sell” be understood as to go where the Holy Spirit is active and moving? Wine representing the Holy Spirit, the lamps going out depicting the dryness caused by Him not being there? The fools took no extra oil, while the wise too jars of oil. To add to that we are jars of clay that leak!

“For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.” Matthew 25:29 MEV

Like I said before, use it or lose it, and I add, use it wisely as directed by the Lord (Is 48:17).

““The King will answer, ‘Truly I say to you, as you have done it for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you have done it for Me.’” Matthew 25:40 MEV

This goes along with the principle of practicing hospitality.

“Then Judas, who betrayed Him, answered, “Master, is it I?” He said to him, “You have said it.”” Matthew26:25 MEV

Hearkens back to the knowledge and understanding of the spiritual.

“Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”” Matthew 26:41 MEV

Let him/her that has understanding know the difference that our new covenant with Jesus Christ make. “vive la difference”

“When Pilate saw that he could not prevail, but rather that unrest was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous Man. See to it yourselves.”” Matthew 27:24 MEV

The Jews didn’t want to dirty their hands (Matthew 27:2), so they passed Jesus on to the Romans, where Pontius Pilate declared Him innocent, and washed his hands. He promptly and proverbially put the ball back in the Jewish system.

“When Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He was condemned, he repented and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,” Matthew 27:3 MEV

Judas repented, but ended up committing suicide. What can be learned from this? The answer is found in what Judas declares in verse 4. If he truly understood the reason that God became man, then he would have known that we all have sinned and betrayed innocent blood.

This is not sympathy for the Devil, but from what I’ve read, Judas never believed that Jesus was God. According to 2 Jn 1:7 and other scriptures, this is the spirit behind the antichrist.

“As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. This man they compelled to bear His cross.” Matthew 27:32 MEV

The profoundness of this still amazes me. Simon of Cyrene most likely would not have understood that this was God in the flesh, and that he was actually helping God, and that too, in carrying the cross. What a privilege. Just wow!

“The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid. For I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here. For He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” Matthew 28:5-6 MEV

The old traditional hymn speaks of this, and every time I hear this modern version (https://youtu.be/hy37I9U781Q), I get strengthened.
