So he hurried and came down, and received Him joyfully. Luke 19:6 MEV
Joyful indeed to host the Creator God.
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10 MEV
The goodness of the Lord that leads to repentance.
Therefore He said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom and to return. So he called his ten servants and entrusted to them ten pounds and said to them, ‘Trade until I come.’ “ ‘I tell you that to everyone who has will be given. But from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away from him. But as for those enemies of mine, who would not let me reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me.’ ” Luke 19:12-13, 26-27 MEV
Jesus is talking about Him returning, the great commission that we have, and the faithfulness of His called ones. Makes me strive to be in His good books.
As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” Luke 19:33 MEV
This is puzzling. Who were the colt’s owners? How did they know who the Lord was to agree to it being taken? Did Jesus have a talk with them before? Add to the list of things to talk ti Jesus about.
Then He entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and bought in it, saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it ‘a den of thieves.’” Luke 19:45-46 MEV
Cleansing using force because righteous indignation, an example of sorts set by the Lord.
Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” Luke 20:8 MEV
This interaction and the way Jesus reacts is surprising. It talks to me about not giving pearls to swine.
He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, and leased it to vinedressers, and went to a distant country for a long time. He looked at them and said, “What then is this that is written: ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’? Luke 20:9, 17 MEV
This is talking about our Heavenly sending prophets and then Jesus, that much is clear, but who are the vinedressers, humans or elohim? I believe the latter. Who does the scripture say killed Jesus? 1 Corinthians 2:8
Whoever falls on that stone will be broken. But he on whom it falls will be crushed to powder.” Luke 20:18 MEV
Everytime I am in danger of twisting the word of God, I’m reminded of this verse.
They watched Him and sent out spies who pretended to be righteous men, that they might seize Him in His words to hand Him over to the power and authority of the governor. Luke 20:20 MEV
I’ve heard of happening even today. Depending on where you are, even in India, from the Government to the media, is being used against the Gospel. That does not bother me at all because what we need wisdom and discernment for is the “fifth-column” attack. Judas Iscariot is a prime example. Have no sympathy for the devil. Never tolerate evil.
He perceived their craftiness and said to them, “Why do you test Me? Luke 20:23 MEV
Therein lies our existence and our victory. To be understood along with Amos 3:7, Deuteronomy 29:29 and 2 Corinthians 2:11.
Jesus answered them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. Luke 20:34 MEV
An institution established by the Lord for humans before the fall, and yet not valid in the age that follows the resurrection from the dead. Why that is so requires a deeper understanding of God’s will and purposes for humans. Remember that there is the marriage supper, for example, which takes place after the resurrection. Selah!
After that they dared not ask Him any question at all. Luke 20:40 MEV
It is important to understand the difference between asking Jesus questions and questioning His authority.
“Beware of the scribes who desire to walk in long robes and who love greetings in the marketplaces and the prominent seats in the synagogues and the seats of honor at banquets, who devour widows’ houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive greater condemnation.”Luke 20:46-47
Definitely not shepherds after God’s heart.
For all these out of their abundance have put in their gifts for God. But she out of her poverty has put in all the living she had.” Luke 21:4 MEV
Heart not abundance. Motives matter.
In your endurance you will gain your souls. Luke 21:19 MEV
Don’t deny Jesus Christ.
When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:28 MEV
A sign for those who believe and hope. This must be taught.
“Truly, I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things are fulfilled. Luke 21:32 MEV
Just goes to prove that we must understand what Jesus means. The only way to do that is to be diligent and study the Bible.
“Take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts become burdened by excessiveness and drunkenness and anxieties of life, and that Day comes on you unexpectedly. Luke 21:34 MEV
Materialism, false doctrine and unbelief, take heed.
