Jacob’s well was there. Jesus, therefore, being exhausted from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. John 4:6 MEV
Jacob had the freedom to build a well there during his journey on earth. As a similar sojouner, I find God’s ways and His kingdom gets more restricted as time passes by. True, the kingdom of God is established by King Jesus, but this is a subset that one day will take over but till then as Jesus said in Luke 19:13 (KJV) “Occupy till I come.”
A woman of Samaria came there to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” John 4:7 MEV
This well, this blessing, even after generations, yeild water. Perhaps redigging (Gen 26:18) the wells that were once a blessing is now necessary.
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth.” John 4:24 MEV
This remains true even after God became man. Jesus reconciles us. One day, the rupture between the spiritual and the natural, which happened and started because of the fall, will be healed, restored.
Many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” John 4:39 MEV
The first evangelist?
After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. John 5:1 MEV
I like feasts because the Lord likes feasts, indeed the feasts of Israel were prophetically ordained by the Lord.
When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been in that condition now a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” John 5:6 MEV
Do you want to be healed?
Truly, truly I say to you, the hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. “Do not marvel at this. For the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. I can do nothing of Myself. As I hear, I judge. My judgment is just, because I seek not My own will, but the will of the Father who sent Me. John 5:25-30 MEV
Even the dead? I can see this being true till Jesus came about 2000 years ago, afterall we read the at the time of Jesus’ death that the graves were opened.
If anything, I’ve learned from Scriptures such as Revelation 13:8 that things pertaining to God are not linear as we see linear. So this makes me wonder about those who’ve died then without hearing the Gospel. In verse 29 we read of those who have done good and evil, meaning while living, and they’ll reap the consequences of the things they have done while living. The apostle Paul confirms this in his letter to the Romans, especially from Romans 1:18 to 5:21.
Other Scriptures also addresses this topic, in other words, it is there, not for itching ears who heap up knowledge and are indeed clouds without rain, but evident to those who bear fruit of the Spirit by faith.
You search the Scriptures, because you think in them you have eternal life. These are they who bear witness of Me. Yet you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. John 5:39-40 MEV
Jesus was standing right there! The difference between those seeking and are contend with legalism and those who continue to seek a relationship.
Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near. John 6:4 MEV
Another feast! Better start liking them…
Jesus then took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; and likewise, they distributed the fish, as much as they wanted. John 6:11 MEV
200 Dinarii vs provision from God, which do we seek?
The sea was stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat. And they were afraid. But He said to them, “It is I. Do not be afraid.” Then they gladly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. John 6:18-21 MEV
While Jesus walking on water is a miracle that should not be ignored, there is a lot more to learn.
Was the strong wind blowing because the demonic realm in aware that Jesus is breaking the barries set by physics or is it unrelated?
In the storms of our lives, when we see the miraculous, don’t attribute it to mere confidence or worse yet, be afraid of God.
With Jesus in our boat, in spite of any situation, we will overcome, override and immediately reach the shore we were heading.
Do not work for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father has set His seal on Him.” John 6:27 MEV
Amen!
This is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40 MEV
Everyone who sees and believes in the son; Jesus.
It is written in the Prophets, ‘They shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and has learned of the Father comes to Me. John 6:45 MEV
The importance of knowing the Old Testament.
Knowing in Himself that His disciples murmured about it, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? John 6:61 MEV
Really, Spirit offends the flesh in so many ways that it is not funny.
So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” John 6:67-69 MEV
Do you also want to go away? To whom shall we go says the man who later went away. It is wise to know that Jesus is Lord.
