Day 49

Let a man so regard us as the ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 1 Corinthians 4:1 MEV

Custodians of all things spiritual, stewards of the mysteries of God.

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will reveal the purposes of the hearts. Then everyone will have commendation from God. 1 Corinthians 4:5 MEV

There are always two sides to every story, but one truth, so wait till He comes. Wait on Him, and we will not be ashamed. Psalm 25.

For now we see as through a glass, dimly, but then, face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, even as I also am known. 1 Corinthians 13:12 MEV

Through a glass, dimly, so do not establish what we are not called to establish. Through I agree with this in my heart and mind, wholeheartedly, I find my soul and body rushing into areas where even Angels fear to tread. All that I have going for me is my hope in the Lord. He will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go. Psalm 32.

So now abide faith, hope, and love, these three. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 MEV

Let love rule!

For he who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to men, but to God. For no one understands him, although in the spirit, he speaks mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:2 MEV

What we commonly call tongues. THIS is a heavenly language, where men speak to God. There can and should be interpretation.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:33 MEV

This is a guiding scripture for me.

Let your women remain silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak. They are commanded to be under obedience, as the law also says. If they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 MEV

I cannot say that I fully understand what Paul means here, but I’m sure that it does not mean that women are to be ruled over by men. I believe that the key to understanding this better is found in the word obedience. It is possible that Paul is specifically addressing an issue faced by the church in Corinth, but I tend to see Scriptures as being applicable to all churches in general. What I can confidently assert is that both men and women are to walk worthy of their calling in Christ, that we have roles based on our gender, and that God is Love. Through these principles as parameters, I seek better understanding of these verses.

Through it you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached to you, unless you have believed in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:2 MEV

This verse alone adds an element of condition to our salvation, ans I believe that the apostle is talking about sanctification here.

But by the grace of God I am what I am. And His grace toward me was not in vain. I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10 MEV

Yes indeed, by the grace of God I am what I am. And His grace toward me was not in vain. I labored more abundantly. Amen.

If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen. If Christ has not risen, then our preaching is vain, and your faith is also vain. 1 Corinthians 15:13-14 MEV

See what I mean about Christ’s resurrection being pivotal. I had expounded on this less than a month ago. This is the foundation of the Gospel. https://youtu.be/1odI__P-KnU

Otherwise, what will they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why are they then baptized for the dead? 1 Corinthians 15:29 MEV

Being baptized for the dead is a false human custom, and is used by Paul only in this argument.

Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 1 Corinthians 15:50 MEV

What we value is of no value if we value the things of this world. For this reason alone, I scrutinize my motives constantly, hold them accountable to the revealed light of God’s heart through His word and my relationship with Him. Keep your eye on the things above!

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 MEV

Amen.

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given instruction to the churches of Galatia, so even you must do. 1 Corinthians 16:1 MEV

This distribution of wealth mentioned here is an instruction even today for the Lampstand Church.
