Exodus 12:42 NKJV
It is a night of solemn observance to the LORD for bringing them out of the land of Egypt. This is that night of the LORD, a solemn observance for all the children of Israel throughout their generations.
When the verse above is compared with what is said about the day of the Lord and the thief in the night, though the exact date of the Lord’s return is unknown, then I can’t help but find similarities especially considering what the Lord Jesus spoke of regarding the night.
When the night is rescued from being considered a tool of the enemy, to it being what it is, a creation by the real God, especially when Jesus has won the victory, then the true light of Jesus Christ will dawn upon us causing us to wake up and rise. Then our yearning for a saviour from the injustices we see and face will be answered in the hope that He alone can nurture in us.
1 Thessalonians 5:2 NKJV For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
2 Peter 3:10 NKJV But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
