Exodus 16

Exodus 16:34-35 NKJV

As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept. [35] And the children of Israel ate manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.

There is a lot to be said about the happenings in this chapter and chief among them is what Israel called Manna. I’ve heard it said that it was almost in a derogatory manner that Israel asked “what is it?”

We read in Psalm 78:25 that it was  “angels’ food. This supernatural aspect  is lost or taken for granted because maybe familiarity breeds contempt.

The reason I think of things this way is because we stand in the same dangerous ground as Christians when we say things like “been there, done that” to miracles.

Maybe I am a little too naive in that I never take God for granted in any way. I really don’t see a difference between healing of a headache, to turning water into medicine and even raising the dead. Those who know me will attest to these miracles, but that is exactly what they are, miracles done by a living God who loves you and me. To Him be the glory, forever and ever.

But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (Hebrews 13:16)
