Ask and I will do

When we came to Gurgaon, the road we had to use to go to school (our workplace) was terribly flooded with water everyday during rainy season, We used to go through a river it seemed, cars used to get stuck, and there were lots of delays. It was very frustrating to go through this every morning.

I remember in the first academic year we used to complain all the time about this road. We used to ask, “Why is the school not doing anything about it?” The only response we got from everyone is that it has been like that for many years now, the villagers in that area are not bothered, the government is not doing anything about it, and the school does not want to spend money on this as it is the government’s responsibility.

However, I remember that in around October this academic year, one day we were doing our morning family prayer in the car as we were going to school, and the Lord reminded us to pray for this road problem, and it would be fixed. The Lord was telling me to pray instead of complain. So we prayed, and I remember asking for God’s favor with the governement officials for the school, and to remove all blocks.

This January when we came back from winter break, the road repair work had started. The government repaired the road!

It is then that the Lord spoke to me saying that all you have to do is pray, instead of complain, and nothing is too difficult for God. Praise the Lord for listening to our prayer and repairing the road!

John 14:13-14 NKJV
[13] And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [14] If you ask anything in My name, I will do.

But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (Hebrews 13:16)
