This expression is found five times (Psalm 29:2; Psalm 96:9; Psalm 110:3; 1 Chron. 16:29; 2 Chron. 20:21).
- Psalm 29:2 (NKJV) Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
- Psalm 96:9 (NKJV) Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.
- Psalm 110:3 (NKJV) Your people shall be volunteers In the day of Your power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth.
- 1 Chronicles 16:29 (NKJV) Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!
- 2 Chronicles 20:21 (NKJV) And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.”
Christians are commanded to be perfect in holiness in body and spirit (Luke 1:75; Romans 6:19,22; 2 Cor. 7:1; Ephes. 4:24; 1 Thes. 3:13; 1 Thes. 4:7; Hebrews 12:10-14).
- Luke 1:75 (NKJV) In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
- Romans 6:19 (NKJV) I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
- Romans 6:22 (NKJV) But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
- 2 Corinthians 7:1 (NKJV) Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
- Ephesians 4:24 (NKJV) and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
- 1 Thessalonians 3:13 (NKJV) so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
- 1 Thessalonians 4:7 (NKJV) For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
- Hebrews 12:10-14 (NKJV) 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.
11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.
14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
Such is possible in Christ (1 Cor. 1:30; 2 Cor. 5:17-18).

God is spoken of as being “glorious in holiness” (Exodus 15:11).
- Exodus 15:11 (NKJV) “Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?
His throne is called one of holiness (Psalm 47:8).
- Psalm 47:8 (NKJV) God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.
He dwells in a holy city (Rev. 21:2,10; Rev. 22:19).
- Revelation 21:2 (NKJV) Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
- Revelation 21:10 (NKJV) And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
- Revelation 22:19 (NKJV) and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Day and night living creatures call attention to His holiness (Isaiah 6:3; Rev. 4:8).
- Isaiah 6:3 (NKJV) And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”
- Revelation 4:8 (NKJV) The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”
He dwells among holy angels and redeemed men (Rev. 14:10; Rev. 18:20; Rev. 22:6). In fact, everything in creation was created holy and all will be eternally holy except the rebels in eternal hell.
- Revelation 14:10 (NKJV) he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
- Revelation 18:20 (NKJV) Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!”
- Revelation 22:6 (NKJV) Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.
