- Genesis 35:24 (NKJV) the sons of Rachel [were] Joseph and Benjamin;
- Judges 21:17 (NKJV) And they said, “[There must be] an inheritance for the survivors of Benjamin, that a tribe may not be destroyed from Israel.
Benjamin was Jacob’s youngest son, from the woman he truly loved. Though Joseph was his elder brother, Joseph’s wife was Egyptian. I could not find the name of Benjamin’s wife, but we can safely assume that she was a full blooded Israelite.
Imagine this lineage and the bloodline as a source of pride for the clan of Benjamin. Was this the reason that they were almost destroyed?
