Genesis 24:8 NKJV
And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be released from this oath; only do not take my son back there.”
Athanasius of Alexandria is quoted as saying “If the world is against the truth, then I am against the world.”
In Galatians 5:1 the Apostle Paul tells us to “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”
I am reminded of all this when I read about the stand that Abraham took by telling his servant not to take his son back, that too when he was well advanced in his years. The Bible encourages us in 2 Corinthians 6:17 that as we stand separated from the world, united with God, He will receive and welcome us.
I therefore encourage you to stand fast in the faith that our Lord Jesus Christ has given you. If you need help with that, reach out to me, and together we will stand.
Athanasius of Alexandria, wrote a book when he was 19, correcting the errors that he saw in what was preached in his day, and he is accredited of putting together the New Testament as we have in our hands.
