Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are appointed by God. Romans 13:1 MEV
In other words, God created what is known as authority, not just the people in authority, but like faith, the existence of authority as a factor. Subsequently, there is more to this than what can be explained here and than what I know and understand.
So it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for the sake of conscience. Romans 13:5 MEV
Not just in some areas, but wholly subjected to God’s will and authority. Subjection to authority is a Godly trait, more than we realize, deeper than we give it credit for. In fact, without it, it is impossible to walk with God. He who is faithful with little…
Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8 MEV
Do not be in debt for anything else. Similar to Proverbs 19:17 NKJV He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what he has given.
Furthermore, knowing the time, now is the moment to awake from sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us take off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave properly, as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in immorality and wickedness, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:11-14 MEV
This is cryptic to me in the sense that there is more to understand about day and night. In one sense, through night started in the world when Jesus died. It is day for us who are born again because we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The night will only get darker, it’s depravity deeper. We who are the light of the world will be taken away. There is more, selah! There is the great tribulation and the wrath of God. Thank God that He is favourable to us.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:14 MEV
This is a command, and not a suggestion.
One man judges one day above another; another judges every day alike. Let each one be fully persuaded in his own mind. Romans 14:5 MEV
Therefore let us no longer pass judgment on one another, but rather determine not to put a stumbling block or an obstacle in a brother’s way. Romans 14:13 MEV
This is talking about Godly conviction, not error or deception. Remember Romans 14:18, “For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.” Discernment is required.
The faith that you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because it is not from faith, for whatever is not from faith is sin. Romans 14:22-23 MEV
There is so much to unpack from these passages that this can be a teaching by itself. The danger is that, without the Fear of the Lord, it will be misunderstood, have no doubt about that, but this principle must be expounded on and taught ad revealed by God. Perhaps, the Lord will enable me to teach on this soon.
We who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak and not please ourselves. Romans 15:1 MEV
This is something that I have to work on, not because I am strong, but because I should not be deceived into believing that I’m strong. Then there are the weaknesses that I see in others, sometimes the same weaknesses that tempt me, but when I see it in others, I have to stop from being automatically legalistic and judgmental, instead overflow with compassion from the Lord. My axe I must sharpen!
Now may the God of perseverance and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6 MEV
Our Lord is not the Prince of Peace for nothing, as I’ve commented before. There is more to this than meets the eye.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 MEV
God of hope
Joy and peace
Believing
Abound in hope
Through the power, wonder working power, of the Holy Spirit.
Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. Romans 15:33 MEV
Here it is again.
Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, Romans 16:3 MEV
They are in the list of people that I wish to eventually meet. Oh, what a glorious day that will be.
Now I urge you, brothers, to closely watch those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the teaching which you have learned, and avoid them. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Romans 16:17, 20 MEV
I hope the truth is beginning to dawn on you; truth about love, and hope, and peace.
