Exodus 33:13-14,18-19 NKJV Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.” [14] And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” [18] And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” [19] Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
God and Moses spoke face to face and Moses already knew God, but because of Moses’ request, God not only passed before him, but also proclaimed the name of the Lord. This is a wonderful thing.
From the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Christian congregation he had established in Philippi, we understand that Jesus Christ, being God Himself, took the form of a bondservant, and lived on Earth in the likeness of men. He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name (Philippians 2:5-11).
