A Testimony of Divine Guidance and Provision

It all began during the transition from the rainy season, around September, October. We started noticing that our current car was having a very low ground clearance hence not serving us well, especially in heavy raining times. However, I did not give it much thought at the time.

In December, I began experiencing repeated thoughts about changing the car. Initially, I dismissed them, believing that I should be content and grateful for the car I already had—a relatively new one, only a year and a half old. However, as January arrived, the thoughts persisted, and I started wondering if the Lord wasn’t trying to tell me something. It became clear that I needed to pay attention.

On the morning of January 25th, while driving to school, we always do our usual morning prayers. That day, I felt a strong conviction that we should pray for a new car. I shared this with my family and told them that, out of obedience, we should all pray for it. By that time, the Lord had already revealed to me the make and brand of the car He intended for us.

A few days later, on January 27th, which happened to be my birthday, I received a clear instruction from the Lord to contact the salesperson who had sold me my current car. I had not been in touch with him since the car’s purchase, over a year and a half ago. I reached out to him, and to my surprise, he responded the next day with enthusiasm, happy to reconnect.

I informed him that I was interested in a test drive and potentially purchasing a new car as I wasn’t yet sure about the whole thing. He quickly arranged for a test drive and an evaluation of my current car for an exchange. However, their initial offer for my car was lower than I expected. I refused it because the Lord had already placed a specific figure in my heart. I firmly stated my price, and two days later, the salesperson called back, confirming that they had matched my requested price and that if I was fine with it, we could proceed with the deal.

With this price, I would able to close my existing car loan entirely and have some left for the new car down-payment, a blessing in itself. Little by little, things fell into place. I had not even put my car up for sale officially, yet it was sold effortlessly. Meanwhile, I proceeded with the booking of the new car and approached the bank for financing. We were to take delivery within 10 to 12 days, but the car reached the showroom earlier than expected from the manufacturing site. God willing, next Tuesday, February 25 afternoon, we will surrender our current car and take delivery of the new car. And this will be exactly 1 month after we made the prayers in the morning.

This testimony is not just about receiving a new car but about the journey of listening to and obeying God’s voice. The process was smooth, stress-free, and filled with peace. Though at times I might have acted as Gideon, for it was too perfect to be true for me, everything happened exactly as the Lord had instructed. The scripture says, ‘The Lord will instruct you whether to go right or left’ (Isaiah 30:21), and I truly experienced this guidance firsthand.

Pastor often reminds us of how God directs His people, and this experience reinforced that lesson for me. It was a powerful learning experience—training myself to listen to God’s voice and follow His direction without doubt or hesitation.

There was no fear, no worry—just execution of His instructions. And the outcome was a result of His faithfulness. ‘Ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.’ (John 16:24)

I give all praise and glory to the Lord. Thank You, Lord, for blessing us with this new car. More than the material blessing, I am grateful for the deep lesson in obedience and trust in Your divine direction. I pray that I continue to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, for that is the most precious thing I have learned in this season.

Amen.

But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (Hebrews 13:16)
